Since its inception, ECDAN-Z has made significant strides in advancing early childhood development in Zambia. Some of our key achievements include:
1. Policy Influence: Successfully advocated for increased government investment in ECD, resulting in new policies and funding allocations that benefit young children.
2. Stakeholder Engagement: Established a robust network of over 100 ECD stakeholders, including government agencies, non-governmental organizations, educational institutions, and community groups, fostering a collaborative environment for ECD.
3. Resource Repository: Created an extensive repository of ECD materials, including research papers, training manuals, and educational resources, accessible to all members and stakeholders.
4. Capacity Building: Conducted numerous training sessions and workshops for ECD practitioners, enhancing their skills and knowledge to provide high-quality services to children and families.
ECDAN-Z's strategic focus for 2024/2025 months includes the following key priorities:
1. Recruitment of Network Coordinator: Appointing a dedicated coordinator to enhance network operations and ensure effective implementation of our strategic initiatives.
2. Organizational Development: Developing key governance documents, including the Board Charter, Financial Management Guidelines, Resource Mobilization Strategy, and Strategic & Advocacy Plan, to strengthen the organizational framework.
3. Capacity Building: Strengthening the Board & Secretariat’s strategies for national networking and advocacy skills, enabling them to effectively champion ECD initiatives.
4. Collaboration: Establishing partnerships with other national and continental ECD networks to share best practices, resources, and expertise.
5. Interim Workplan Development: Focusing on policy advocacy, knowledge exchange, and learning through webinars, workshops, and other platforms; mapping existing ECD resources and stakeholders' expertise within the membership.
